The Port of Baltimore is busier than ever before, bringing major benefits to Maryland consumers and driving the state’s economy.
But this success could be threatened if regulators place unnecessary new rules on freight railroads — one of the Port’s most important partner in moving record amounts of cargo.
In the first quarter, the Port of Baltimore received 2.56 million tons of cargo, its highest-ever quarter and a 4.8 percent increase from 2016.
